The race.

The Griffith Education Foundation 5K benefits a nonprofit organization that funds teacher and classroom grants for Griffith schools. The 5K run/walk takes place September 5, 2026, at Central Park in Griffith, Indiana, with registration beginning at 8 a.m. and the race starting at 9 a.m. Participants receive water and bananas after finishing. Awards go to the top male and female finishers in each age group (under 18, 19–35, 36–49, and 50+), with winners announced immediately after the race. Registration costs $30 for adults and $20 for children; a discount of $80 applies when four adults register together. T-shirt orders require registration by August 20. Strollers and leashed dogs are permitted.
