The race.

The MRT 2026 Last Runner Standing 1 Mile takes place April 7, 2026, at the Statesville Soccer Complex in Statesville, NC. Runners compete in successive 1-mile heats with progressively faster cutoff times, starting at 10 minutes and decreasing by 30 seconds per mile. Each heat allows a 5-minute rest period after the last finisher crosses. Awards are given nightly for overall, masters, and five-year age group categories. This race is part of a 15-race Championship Series; participants must complete 10 of 15 races to be eligible for series championship standings, with points awarded based on placement. Runners competing in all 15 races earn 5 bonus points and a free 2027 race entry.
