About the race

The race.

MVRRC hosts its first annual Independence Day 5K road race on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Lake Perris State Recreation Area in Perris, California. The 5K run/walk begins at 8:30 AM, with packet pickup available race day starting at 7:00 AM. The course is USATF certified with professional chip timing. Winners in the 5K receive cash prizes: $150 for first place, $75 for second, and $50 for third in both male and female divisions. All finishers receive medals, and the first 100 registered runners receive free race shirts. A $20 vehicle entrance fee applies to the state recreation area.
