About the race

The race.

The Newaygo Power Paddle features canoe racing on the Croton River in Michigan. The C2 Race (Expert 1 and Expert 2 divisions) takes place June 6, starting at Al duChemin Park on Croton Pond and finishing at New Bridge Access; Expert 2 begins at 11 AM and Expert 1 at 11:05 AM, with the full course including a portage around Croton Dam and approximately 1 hour 45 minutes of racing. The C1 Race occurs June 8, starting below Croton Dam near the bridge and finishing at New Bridge Access, with expected winning times around 1 hour 40 minutes. Registration opens at 9:30 AM for C1 (June 8) and awards follow races immediately. Equal prize payouts are offered to men's, women's, and mixed competitors.
