About the race

The race.

The Run Texas 5K plus 1 Mile Fun Walk takes place on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Mission Hike & Bike Trails in Mission, Texas. The 5K run starts at 7:00 a.m., followed by the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk at 7:10 a.m.; participants should arrive by 6:30 a.m. All finishers receive medals, and 5K participants receive event shirts (shirt guarantee deadline is June 25). Packet pickup occurs Thursday, July 16, from 3:30–6:30 p.m. at Valley Running Co. in McAllen. The 5K offers chip timing, live results, and awards for top male and female overall finishers plus eight age groups (15 & under through 70+). All participants have access to hydration and snack stations, with DJ music and a start/finish inflatable funnel. Group registration for 10 or more is $25 per person.
