Run the Ridge Lakefront Mary E. Smith 17th Annual Brain Tumor Awareness 5K takes place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, starting at 8:30 a.m. along the lakefront ridge in Chicago, accessed via East 39th Street and Oakwood Avenue. The 5K course accommodates both runners and walkers. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with entry fees of $40 (if registered by March 31), $45 (by May 31), and $50 (by June 1), or $55 for on-site registration. Participants receive a chipped timed bib, t-shirt, and finisher medal; t-shirt sizes are guaranteed through June 1. The event includes vendor booths, presentations at 8:15 a.m., entertainment at 10:30 a.m., and an honor/memory ceremony at 10:45 a.m. Teams can compete for top fundraising and largest member awards. Proceeds benefit the National Brain Tumor Society and Mary E. Smith Foundation scholarships and research.
