About the race

The race.

The Metropolitan 5k takes place June 19, 2026, in Atlanta, Georgia, and includes a 5K race, a Kids Fun Run, and a Senior Walk. Participants ages 15 and older are welcome. The 5K starts at 8:00 a.m. at 1995b Metropolitan Parkway. Race bibs and shirts are available for pickup beginning at 4:00 a.m., with final pickup at 6:59 a.m. Registration includes a race shirt and medal for the first 1,500 registrants, plus age-group finisher awards based on net time. Overall male and female winners also receive awards. Registration closes June 19 with no race-day sign-ups available. Proceeds benefit E.F.F.E.C.T. Cause, a 501(c)(3) organization supporting Atlanta Public School students. A virtual option allows participants to complete the 5K at their own location and time.
