Tough Oaks OCR (Obstacle Course Run) 2026

The race.

Tough Oaks OCR takes place September 19, 2026, in Newport, NC, featuring multiple 5K obstacle course options with 20+ stations testing strength, endurance, and agility. The Elite Heat is a timed competition requiring completion of all obstacles or 20 penalty burpees per failure; the Open Race is untimed and family-friendly with optional obstacle scaling. The course traverses open field, woodland, and shallow water on mostly flat terrain. Packet pickup and course preview occur at a Family Night event on September 18 at Camp Albemarle. Entry fees are $50 for Elite Heat, $45 for Open Race, and $25 for children 12 and under. On-site EMS will be present during the race.
