Deferring your race entry to another race
Requesting a deferral, how long the credit lasts, and where you can spend it.
What is a deferral?
A deferral turns an entry you cannot use into a credit toward a future race. You request it, your organizer decides, and if they approve it you get a credit to spend on one of their races later.
Deferrals are the organizer's call, not ours. Whether they offer them at all, and up to what date, is set per race. If you do not see the option, that race is not offering it.
How do I request one?
Open your registrations in your account, find the entry, and request a deferral. Only confirmed entries can be deferred, so an entry still being paid for or held cannot be. You can cancel your own request while it is still pending; once your organizer has decided, it is theirs to change.
How long does the credit last, and where can I use it?
An approved credit lasts 12 months from approval by default. Your organizer can set a shorter window when they approve it, so check the expiry on your credit rather than assuming a year.
The credit is tied to the organizer who issued it. It works on their races and no one else's. At checkout you will see a deferral credit applied to your total; if you see that the credit cannot be used for this race's organizer, you are on a race run by someone else.
A credit can only be spent once. If it is already redeemed on another entry, it cannot be applied again.
What if I just want my money back?
That is a refund, not a deferral, and it follows your organizer's refund policy. Refunds are issued by the organizer from their own dashboard. Contact them using the support email on the race page.
