Registering for a race

How to register for a race on PodiumBase

Entering a race on PodiumBase, what you are asked for, and what happens after you pay.

How do I register for a race?

Open the race page and choose Register. Races that take entries through PodiumBase show a Register button; races that use an outside registration provider link out to it instead, and races that are not taking entries show no button at all.

Registration runs in one flow: pick your distance, fill in your details, then pay. Your place is held while you complete it, so take the time you need, but do not leave it open for hours. If the hold expires you can start again with Restart registration.

What information will I be asked for?

Expect to give:

  • The distance or race option you want.
  • Your name, date of birth, and gender, which organizers need for age-group results.
  • An emergency contact name, phone number, and relationship to you.
  • Anything else your organizer asks for, which varies by race. Common extras are shirt size, club affiliation, and estimated finish time.

If you have registered through PodiumBase before, signing in first fills most of this in for you.

Can I add my race photos at the same time?

Usually yes. Many races offer a pre-sale photo pack or a finisher photo bundle as an add-on during registration, priced below what the same photos cost afterwards. It is optional, and skipping it does not stop you buying photos later.

Some races run in free mode, where every finisher downloads their photos at no cost. Those races show your photos as included rather than offering a bundle.

What happens after I pay?

You get a confirmation email straight away, and your entry appears under your registrations in your account. Your bib number is assigned by the organizer, often closer to race day rather than at the moment you register, and packet pickup details usually arrive the week of the race.

Your finisher photos land in your gallery within hours of the finish, once a photographer has shot the race and matching has run.

Find a race to enter in the race directory, or see your existing entries in your account.
