About the race

The race.

Abe's Army is a 12-week training program starting June 1, 2026, designed for runners and walkers preparing for the Abe's Amble race in August. Participants choose between 5K and 10K distances. SRRC membership is required; membership may be purchased with registration. An orientation session is scheduled for May 18, 2026, for packet pickup and program information. Registration includes a performance tech shirt (early registration recommended to guarantee availability), training plan with printable log sheet, race entry, finisher's medal, access to training leaders and advice, water stops at Monday training runs, online Facebook group access, a catered end-of-season picnic, and a 10% discount at Springfield Running Center. Children under 16 may participate with direct parental supervision and will be assigned to the same training group as their guardian.
