The Chicagoland SCADaddle 5K Walk & Run for Research takes place June 12, 2026, at Danada Forest Preserve in Wheaton, Illinois, with an opening ceremony at 8:30 a.m. and a chip-timed 5K start at 9:00 a.m. The USATF-certified course runs through the preserve on varied terrain including crushed cinder, concrete, sidewalk, and grass. Participants receive medals or recognition based on placement in overall categories or one of nine age groups (11 and under through 70 and up). The event supports SCAD (Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection) research. Post-race refreshments, vendors, and a SCAD store are available. Participants who raise at least $1,000 receive a refunded registration fee of $45.
