About the race

The race.

Mountainside Rescue Squad hosts its second annual 5K fundraiser on May 17, 2026, in Mountainside, NJ, to support National EMS Week. The event includes a timed 5K run, an untimed 5K walk, and a kids fun run starting at 8:30 a.m. The USATF-certified course uses a gun start with separate start and finish locations; timing is recorded via RFID chips read at the finish line only. Participants who register before May 1st receive a bib and shirt for the run or walk; kids fun run shirts are unavailable. Parking is limited; attendees are encouraged to use the Mountainside Community Pool or Library lots and cross Route 22 via footbridge. Proceeds benefit the volunteer-run Mountainside Rescue Squad, a 501(c)(3) organization providing emergency medical services to Mountainside and surrounding areas.
