Firecracker 5k/1-Mile Fun Run 2026

The race.

The Firecracker 5K/1-Mile Fun Run takes place June 28, 2026, at Kenosha Library Park in Kenosha, Wisconsin, with both events starting at 8:30 a.m. The closed, USATF-certified 5K course runs along the lakefront and historic district with three water stations; the 1-mile event is also available. Only the 5K is chip-timed. Packet pickup occurs Saturday, June 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kenosha YMCA, or race morning from 7 to 8 a.m. at the park. The first 600 registered participants receive a t-shirt and medal. Awards are given to the male and female 5K overall winners and to top-three finishers in designated age groups (14 and under, 5-year increments, and 80+) in both races. Online pre-registration costs $23 through March 31, increasing to $48 for in-person registration June 27.
