About the race
The race.
The Florence Freedom 5K takes place on Friday, July 4, 2026, in downtown Florence, SC, starting at 7:30 a.m. from 120 E. Elm Street. The flat, fast course is a 5K with a 1-mile walk/run option starting at 7:35 a.m. All 5K finishers receive medals, cooled towels, and post-race food. Runners who pre-register by June 1 receive a gold shirt or tank top; registration closes July 3. Age group awards go to the top three finishers in each of nine divisions (10 & Under through 70+), plus top three overall and masters categories. A portion of proceeds benefits the Disabled American Veterans and One Child At A Time. Day-of packet pickup begins at 6:30 a.m., with awards at 8:40 a.m.
