Independence Day 5k and 1K 2026

The race.

The Independence Day 5K and 1K takes place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in downtown Cumming, Georgia, with races starting at 8:00 a.m. The 5K course runs through downtown streets with the start and finish at the same location; the 1K fun run and tot trot begin and end at the start/finish line. Race day registration and packet pickup open at 6:30 a.m. at the start/finish line. Participants registered by June 17 receive a guaranteed t-shirt (choice of women's racerback tank or unisex shirt); those who register after June 17 are not guaranteed shirts. All finishers receive a commemorative die cast medal. Age group medals are awarded in five-year increments from 10 and under through 75+, plus overall and masters awards. Proceeds support local disadvantaged adolescents seeking to join track and cross country programs.
