Island Montessori Tinted Turtle Trot 2026

The race.

The Island Montessori School hosts its 11th annual Tinted Turtle Trot on April 26, 2026, at Mike Chappell Park in Carolina Beach, NC. The event includes a 5K, 1-mile run, and kids' dash. Registration closes April 5th for guaranteed race shirts; a no-shirt discount option is available. The 5K costs $30 through April 5th, $35 through April 25th, and $40 on race day; the 1-mile run costs $20 through April 5th and $25 after; the kids' dash costs $10 with a shirt or $5 without. Awards include overall and age-group placements in the 5K and 1-mile run, with ribbons for kids' dash finishers. Team awards recognize the largest team and top fundraisers. An awards ceremony follows at Good Hops Brewing in Carolina Beach, beginning no later than 11:30 a.m., with food available for purchase. Proceeds benefit Island Montessori School, the only free public Montessori education program in New Hanover County.
