About the race
The race.
The Luv 2 Run Portland 5K takes place on June 14, 2026, starting at 9 a.m. at Back Cove Trail in Portland, Maine. Walkers and runners are both welcome to participate in the 5K distance. Packet pickup and race-day registration occur from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. at Marathon Sports, located at 309 Marginal Way in Portland. Entrants receive a Luv2Run T-shirt and pint glass award. Overall winners and top-two finishers in each age group receive cash prizes. The race supports the Sons of the Amvets Michael Shone Scholarship. A post-race party with complimentary mimosas (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options) follows at 10:30 a.m. at Charles J Loring Amvets Post 25.
