The race.
On June 13, 2026, Rescue Challenge 911 hosts a 5K color run and 1-mile walk at Stony Creek Metropark in Shelby Township. The event runs from 8:30 a.m. (check-in and packet pickup) through 12:30 p.m., with the race starting at 9:30 a.m. on paved surfaces. Participants receive a free t-shirt while supplies last. Awards include $50 gift cards for the first male and female finishers overall, special medals for top male and female finishers in eight age categories, and handcrafted medals for the first 100 finishers. Registration is $35 through March 1, 2027, with reduced rates for children ages 6–12 and free entry for children 5 and under. Proceeds support child safety education and rescue efforts.
