About the race

The race.

The Sangamon Cycling Series is a four-ride training program organized by the Springfield Bicycle Club. Registration includes entry to four supported rides held at various Sangamon County locations, with distances ranging from 25 to 100 miles per ride; participants choose their distance for each event. The four rides take place on May 9, 2026 (Pawnee), June 7, 2026 (Chatham—South Park Pavilion), July 19, 2026 (Auburn Community Park), and August 8, 2026 (Athens), all starting at 8:00 AM. Registration covers nutrition, hydration, SAG support for mechanical issues, and a post-ride meal. The program welcomes cyclists of all levels and accommodates group speeds from 10 mph to 20+ mph.
