About the race

The race.

Trail Kids Mountain Bike Camps, operated by Loppet, offers half-day sessions (8am–12pm) for ages 7–13 at Theodore Wirth Park in Minneapolis. Beginner and intermediate/advanced camps run on separate weeks throughout June, July, and early August 2026. Participants learn fundamental skills including braking, cornering, and singletrack riding while exploring trails at Theodore Wirth Park and the paved trail network. Each participant must provide their own mountain bike with front and back wheel brakes, helmet, and water carrier; limited rental bikes are available for an additional $30 fee. All participants receive a Trail Kids t-shirt and water bottle. Coaches trained in mountain bike skills, games, orienteering, and trail instruction lead the camps in groups organized by age and ability.
