The race.
The Uwharrie 5 Hour Adventure Race covers 20 miles of combined biking and hiking in Albemarle, NC on May 30, 2026. Participants navigate to checkpoints using pre-plotted maps while biking and hiking through the terrain, competing individually or in teams of 2–4 who must stay within 100 yards of each other. The race starts and finishes at a picnic shelter. Competitors receive food and drinks at completion, and winners are announced with prizes awarded. All participants must sign a liability waiver; minors must race with an adult.
