Why does my bib return nothing?

Bib search reads the number printed on the bib in each photo. It fails when the number cannot be read, which is common and not a fault in your entry:

  • Your bib was covered by a jacket, a race belt, a water bottle, or another runner.
  • It was creased, folded, or pinned so the number bent out of shape.
  • You wore it on your back or your leg, where the finish-line cameras were not pointed.
  • The photo is side-on, so the bib is edge-on to the camera.

The photos may still exist in these cases; they are just not indexed to your number. Where event support, account eligibility, consent, age, and jurisdiction gates allow it, selfie search may return likely eligible matches that bib search missed. Coverage, image quality, and matching uncertainty still apply.

Why does my bib show someone else's photos?

Two reasons account for almost all of it. Either a digit was misread, which happens with 6s, 8s, and 3s on a creased bib, or two runners genuinely carried the same number across different distances of the same event.

If you are seeing photos of another runner, tell us the race and bib number. Do not buy them. We will correct the match rather than have you pay for the wrong person's photos.

Does bib search work at every race?

No. Bib search is switched on per race by the organizer. If a race has it off, browse the gallery. Where event support, account eligibility, consent, age, and jurisdiction gates allow it, the race page may also offer selfie search for likely eligible matches.

What should I do instead?

Where the event and your jurisdiction support it, try the event's one-time selfie search. Eligible accounts may also see limited-release cross-event search, but it does not search every covered race universally. See how face matching works.
