The race.
The 17th Annual Independence Day 5K Run/Walk presented by Maguire Law Firm takes place July 4, 2026, in Myrtle Beach, SC. The 5K begins at 7:00 a.m. on a USATF certified course. A 1-mile fun run starts at 7:30 a.m., and a free 50-yard kids' dash begins at 8:00 a.m. Both runners and walkers are welcome for the 5K and 1-mile events. Finishers receive a participant shirt (while supplies last) and medal. The 5K offers overall and age-group awards in male and female categories, plus a masters division. Online registration closes July 4 at 5:00 a.m. Packet pickup is available July 2–4 at Native Sons or race morning at Grand Park Lake.
