Description
Babcock Ranch is excited to announce our 4th of July 5K Run/Walk . The course is a scenic 3.1 miles around through Babcock Ranch. After the race stick around and enjoy all of the great amenities at Founders Square.
This event is part of the Babcock Ranch Summer Race Series , which includes:
4th of July 5K Run or Walk on July 4, 2026
Labor Day 5K Run or Walk on September 7, 2026 .
Series Discount: Register for two or three races and receive an automatic $5.00 discount off of each race.
The series discount cannot be combined with age-based pricing or club discounts.
Event Overview:
Date: July 4, 2026
Start Time: 7:30 AM (run and walk start together).
Start Location: In front of Lee Health, 42880 Crescent Loop, Punta Gorda, FL 33982
Finish: Founders Square boardwalk near the bandstand area.
Early/Race Day Packet Pickup:
June 29th & 30th 9:00 AM to 5 PM, July 1st | 9:00 AM to 5 PM, Babcock Ranch Lifestyles Office, 42891 Lake Babcock Dr, Punta Gorda, FL 33982
Race Day Packet Pickup: Saturday, July 4th | 6:30 AM to 7:15 AM at Founders Square, 42850 Crescent Loop, Punta Gorda, FL 33982. Please bring a credit card or use apple pay, the race does not accept cash.
Shirts: Shirts are not guaranteed after June 22, 2026, at noon . We will be ordering a limited number of extra shirts, but we cannot guarantee availability or specific sizes after the deadline. If your preferred size is unavailable, please select an alternate size or the No Shirt option.
Course: Paved roads and sidewalks.
Water Stations: Located that the half point on the course and finish line.
Bathrooms: Located in Founders Square.
Race Day Parking: There is free ample parking is available near the starting area.
Awards (bandstand area): 1st Place Overall Awards: Male & Female (clock time) 1st Place Masters (40), Grand Masters (50), Senior Grand Masters (60): Male & Female (clock time) In-person awards to the top three M/F in the following age groups: 9 and Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.
All participants receive a finisher medal. If you don't stay for your award, you are responsible for coordinating with Babcock Ranch of when you will pick it up. Awards and shirts will not be shipped to participants.

Frequently asked questions: Q: Is this a timed race? A: Yes, the 5K "timed" event is chip-timed by Beach Bum Timing. Q: Are dogs allowed on the course? A: You may run with your dog, but you assume ALL responsibility for your dog. Your pet must be leashed at all times and up to date on vaccinations. Please pick up after your pooch. Participants with dogs will start at the back of the race unless you and your dog run a sub 21 min 5K. Q: Are strollers allowed on the course? A: Yes. Participants with strollers must start at the back of the race unless you and your stroller run a sub 21 min 5K. Q: Is the course good for spectators? A: Yes.
