Welcome to Brooklyn Duathlon

We're happy to announce our Brooklyn Duathlon taking place in the iconic Prospect Park! The event features two scenic loops: a shorter 3.34-mile course for running and a longer loop for biking, both on the park's smooth, tree-lined roads. Rain or shine, the race is on - so be sure to arrive early to get familiar with the route and event setup.

Race Date and time: June 27th, Saturday. Duathlon: 7.45AM start. 10.15AM cut off time. 5K: 9.30AM start. 10.15AM cut off time.

Race Location: Lincoln Rd entrance in Prospect Park

Duathlon race course: Both runs are one full lap around Prospect Park and the same: 3.34 miles (5k), Strava record is here . Bike is 4 laps around the park, total 13.4 miles, Strava record is here . Transition by Lincoln Rd. See maps on the bottom of the page.

Running race course: One 3.34-mile full loop around the park on the main road

Registration for Duathlon: Check in begins 1 hour and ends 15 minutes before start time. USA Triathlon racing license required to register for both Duathlon. Please sign up online to expedite the registration process and avoid potential errors. Day of registration is available with $10 late fee. USAT one day license for Sprint is $15

Registration for 5K Run: Check in begins 8.30am (1 hour before the race) and ends 15 minutes before start time. USA Triathlon racing license required to register for 5K. Please sign up online to expedite the registration process and avoid potential errors. Day of registration is available with $5 late fee. USAT one day license for 5K is $5

Race Insurance: USA Triathlon Membership includes participant accident insurance coverage up to $25,000 for registered athletes during the event. Coverage is supplemental to an athlete's existing health insurance, or may provide coverage if the participant does not have health insurance.

Race numbers for Duathlon: Jersey number should be placed on the front. Bicycle number goes either on the seat post (more aero) or on the top tube. Helmet number goes on the front. You can keep timing chips from other races on your bicycle since we do semi-manual timing.

Race results: Duathlon draft results will be available as soon as last person finish, but not later than 9.30am. Online results will include transition break downs and normally will be published within 48 hours.

Awards: Top-3 Men and Women get medals and winners get a special awards. Rest of duathlon participants get finisher medals. All participants will receive finisher training jersey. Age group awards MAY be offered if registration meets minimums.

Bicycle requirements: Any type of bike you own is good for duathlon as long as it has brakes. Check for wind speed if you plan to use dish wheels. No rental bikes available.

Parking: Public parking is hard to find. Take Q train to Prospect Park station if possible.

Water/Restrooms/Trash: Water and trash bag will be available at check in table. Portable restrooms will be by transition.

Sanctioning: Brooklyn Duathlon is USAT sanctioned event. USA Triathlon is the National governing body of the sports of triathlon, aquabike, duathlon, and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required. USA Triathlon provides rules, guidance and governance to set the standard for safe and fair multi-sport races.
