Death by 5k Albuquerque 2026

The race.

Death by 5k Albuquerque is a 50K event held May 30–31, 2026, at Balloon Fiesta Park. Participants complete ten 5K loops on paved roads and multi-use paths, with each 5K starting 2.5 hours apart beginning at 8 a.m., followed by 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 6 p.m., 8:30 p.m., 11 p.m., 1:30 a.m., 4 a.m., and 6:30 a.m. Runners must finish each loop before the next one begins. Between 5Ks, participants may rest in vehicles or camp in the adjacent grass field. Prepared meals are served at 8:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 9 p.m., and 4:30 a.m., with snacks, water, and Gatorade available throughout. Finishers receive a coffin award, event shirt, and race swag. Registration is capped at 175 participants initially, with a waitlist for additional spots. Headlamps or other illumination are required.
