Desert Mountains “Ordinary" Bicycle Race 2026

The race.

The Desert Mountains "Ordinary" Bicycle Race takes place on June 28, 2026, in El Paso, Texas, featuring criterium racing on antique-style high-wheel bicycles. Two 20-minute heats begin at 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., followed by a 30-minute championship race at 11:00 a.m., with the one-block course located adjacent to San Jacinto Plaza in downtown El Paso. Race registration closes June 12, 2026; entry is $65 and includes a pre-event reception, swab bag, lunch, and medallion awards for first through third place in each category (overall, 18–39, 40–64, and 65+). Packet pickup and the mandatory racers brief occur from 7:30–8:30 a.m. at Unbranded Tavern and Kitchen. A free children's event, the Little Riders Pedal Party, runs from 10:00–10:45 a.m. for ages 5–12.
