Fast & Furriest 5K Run/Walk 2026

The race.

Great Lakes Bay Animal Society hosts the 13th Annual Fast & Furriest 5K Run/Walk on May 2, 2026, at Midland City Forest in Midland, Michigan. The trail-based event offers two chip-timed 5K options: one for participants without dogs and one for those running or walking with dogs. Medals are awarded to first, second, and third place finishers in male and female categories. Water and aid stations are located along the course, which accommodates strollers and is suitable for families with young children. Packet pickup and late registration occur Friday, May 1, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 2, from 7:30–8:45 a.m. (without dogs) or 9:00 a.m. (with dogs). Children six and under run or walk free; those registering by April 20 receive event t-shirts and additional items. All proceeds benefit Great Lakes Bay Animal Society's animal care services.
