About the race
The race.
The Firecracker 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run takes place on July 4, 2026, in Huntsville, Alabama. Participants can choose between a 5K or 1 mile distance. The 5K begins at 7:00 a.m. on the Greenway and is USATF-certified. Packet pickup is available Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Fleet Feet Huntsville, or race morning from 6:00 a.m. to 6:45 a.m. at Morningside Baptist Church (15001 Bailey Cove Road). Participants receive gender-specific CRAFT performance tank or short-sleeve shirts available on a first-come, first-choice basis. Preferred parking is at Southside Park, approximately half a mile from the start; additional parking is available at McGucken Park. Complimentary child care and restroom facilities are provided at the church.
