About the race
The race.
The Historic Waterford Trail Run/Walk takes place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Waterford, VA, featuring a 10K trail run starting at 8:30 am, a 5K trail run/walk beginning at 8:40 am, and a kids' Fun Run (approximately 1 mile) at 10:00 am. The courses traverse trails, fields, and unpaved and paved roads. All 5K and 10K finishers receive a commemorative t-shirt and medal; kids who finish the Fun Run receive a medal. Award presentations begin around 9:30 am for top three overall finishers in each distance and top three male and female finishers ages 11 and under in the 5K. Packet pickup is available Thursday, May 7 (5:00–7:00 pm at PR Run and Walk Leesburg), Friday, May 8 (4:00–6:00 pm at The Waterford Mill), or race morning starting at 7:30 am. Virtual 5K and 10K options are available. Proceeds benefit the Waterford Foundation.
