About the race
The race.
The IslandKids Triathlon takes place June 27, 2026, in Avalon, New Jersey, featuring a youth-focused course with a 100-meter ocean swim, 5-kilometer bike ride on closed Avalon Avenue, and 1-kilometer beach run. Participants in age groups 7–8, 9–10, 11–12, and 13–15 compete in chip-timed waves starting at 9:10 a.m., with awards presented to the top five finishers in each category. All race proceeds benefit Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Finishers receive a race bib, swim cap, shirt, athlete's bag, and medal. Packet pickup occurs Friday, June 26, from 5–7 p.m. or race morning from 7–8:30 a.m. at Community Hall, where a post-race celebration with refreshments begins at 10:30 a.m.
