Light the Trail 5K and Fun Run 2026

The race.

Light the Trail is a 5K race held in Clemson, SC on September 17, 2026 (rain date September 24). The 3.1-mile course winds through the Patrick Square community, starting and finishing at the Village Green retail district, with two loops around the neighborhood. Elevation ranges from 721 to 825 feet. Race packet pickup occurs September 15–16 from 8–10 a.m. at Sunnyside Cafe and 4–6 p.m. at Kite Hill Brewing Co., with additional pickup on race day from 5–6 p.m. at Village Green. Awards are given for various ages and groups, with a costume contest and raffle prizes. A 1-mile family fun run is also offered. The event benefits the Green Crescent Trail and supports a regional trail connectivity vision. Post-race activities include food, drinks, music, and family activities at Village Green.
