About the race
The race.
The Na Koa Regatta 2026 takes place August 15 on the waters off Fort DeRussy Beach Park in Honolulu. Participants compete in teams of five in Hawaiian racing canoe races covering approximately one-quarter mile in a double-elimination format. The event runs from 7:40 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and supports wounded veterans and their families, as well as Gold Star families. Teams are limited to 90 total entries, divided between 60 veteran teams and 30 Wounded Warrior and Gold Star family teams. Each team receives a steersman and races at least twice. No prior experience is required. Event shirts are not guaranteed for orders placed after August 1 at 10:00 a.m.
