About the race

The race.

Open Water Swim #2 takes place June 24, 2026, at Lionsbrook Resort's Lionshead Beach on Lake Aspen in Wright City, Missouri. Participants may drop in anytime between 5:30 and 7:00 PM and stay for as long as desired. An optional beginner-friendly clinic led by Coach Sally Drake begins at 5:30 PM on shore, covering sighting, panic management, swimming in current, and triathlon swim starts. The session includes buoys set up for sighting practice and navigation, with a limited number of inflatable swim buoys available for personal use; wetsuits are permitted. Lifeguards from BYLG and experienced volunteers provide on-water safety support, and "angel swimmers" are available as buddies for first-time open water swimmers or those requesting a companion.
