The race.
The Parkway Mile is a one-mile out-and-back race held on June 21, 2026, on the Champlain Parkway in Burlington, Vermont. The event accommodates both runners and walkers capable of completing the mile in under 25 minutes, with a 400-participant cap. Five staggered waves begin between 10:05 AM and 11:15 AM based on predicted finish times. Bib pickup occurs from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the staging area near Home Avenue. All finishers receive a commemorative certificate, and awards are presented at approximately 11:45 AM across overall categories and age groups ranging from 4 to 80+. Limited-edition race shirts printed on-site cost $20. All race proceeds benefit Committee on Temporary Shelter (COTS).
