About the race
The race.
The Spirit of Kona Triathlons & 5k/10k takes place on May 9, 2026, in Lenoir City, Tennessee. Sprint triathlon competitors complete a 400-meter swim in Tellico Dam, a 16-mile bike course, and a run along the dam. Olympic triathlon entrants swim 1600 yards, bike 25 miles, and run the same dam course. Aquabike and relay divisions are available at both sprint and Olympic distances. A separate 5k/10k run-only event with certified courses is also offered. Packet pickup occurs Friday evening (5:30–7:00 p.m.) and Saturday morning (5:30–7:20 a.m.). Race day starts at 5:30 a.m. with transition opening; sprint swimmers begin at 7:30 a.m., Olympic swimmers at 7:45 a.m., and 5k/10k runners at 8:00 a.m.
