The race.
On July 4, 2026, Hughes, AR hosts a 5K run and 14.1-mile bike race as a community fundraiser for the local fireworks display and fire department. The 5K begins at 7:15 a.m. from Bond's Grocery Store and finishes at Horseshoe Lake Baptist Church; the bike race starts and ends at Horseshoe Lake Baptist Church at 7:30 a.m. Registration and packet pickup for both events open at 6:00 a.m. race morning. Registration is $35 in advance or $40 on race day for either event. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
