The race.
The 26th Annual Short Run Long Day 5K Run/Walk takes place June 17, 2026, in Frankfort, Illinois. The 5K course is U.S. Track & Field certified, covering 3.1 miles through the Old Plank Trail and historic streets of Frankfort, with water stations along the route. Registration costs $25 per person through noon on June 8, then increases to $35. Awards are given to top overall finishers and age division winners in male and female categories. Race shirts are guaranteed for those who register by May 20. Following the race, participants enjoy a post-race celebration featuring a DJ, refreshments, and water on a first-come basis. Parking is available at Main Park, Frankfort Village Hall, the Park District Preschool Building, and neighborhood streets.
