About the race
The race.
The BIRR Monster Mash Mile Fun Run takes place on October 31, 2026, at Wailoa State Park in Downtown Hilo. The 1-mile event starts at 9:00 a.m., and a 400-yard race for children 12 and under begins at 9:30 a.m. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in the mile race, plus winners in costume, stroller, and kids' categories. All children receive prizes. The entry fee is free for BIRR members and children 12 and under, with a $10 donation requested from non-members. Snacks and water are provided.
