The race.

The Buffalo Trace Stampede takes place June 13, 2026, in Maysville, Kentucky, featuring a one-mile run and walk starting at 9:00 am from Mason County Public Library and finishing at Limestone Landing Fountain. Proceeds benefit the Mason County Animal Shelter. The course includes chip timing and awards for top three overall finishers plus winners in 15 age groups ranging from 13 and under to 80 and over, with additional categories for walkers and first responders. Registration costs $20 pre-race (before 10 pm June 11) or $30 race day, with guaranteed t-shirts for pre-registered runners. A Stick Pony Derby follows at 9:15 am, a 150-yard event offering 25 loaner ponies with $20 awards to top male and female riders.
