About the race
The race.
The Cabo Verdean 5K, 1 Mile Walk, and Kids Run takes place Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Max Read Field in Pawtucket, RI. The kids race starts at 8:00 a.m., the 1-mile walk at 8:30 a.m., and the 5K at 9:00 a.m. Online registration closes July 24 at 8:00 p.m.; race-day registration opens at 7:45 a.m. Packet pickup is available Friday, July 24, from noon to 6:00 p.m. at Marathon Sports (Providence Place, Level 1, Providence, RI). Awards are given to overall and age-group winners (19 and under through 70+), law enforcement winners, and top-scoring teams. Entry fees are $38 for the 5K and walk, and $20 for the kids race. Proceeds support breast cancer resources, medical assistance, and awareness in the Cabo Verde Islands.
