The race.
The Galva Freedom Fest 5K takes place July 4, 2026, starting at 8am from Wiley Park in Galva, Illinois. The flat, in-town course covers 5 kilometers. Day-of registration runs from 7am to 7:45am, with packet pickup from 6:30am to 7:45am. Registration costs $25 if completed by July 1st at midnight (includes t-shirt) or $25 day-of without a shirt and no advance online registration. Age group trophies are awarded to first, second, and third place finishers in 14 divisions ranging from 9 and under to 70 and over, with equal awards for men and women. Additional awards include a trophy for the first active military or veteran finisher, a $100 bonus to male and female course record holders, and a best patriotic costume award.
