H.E.R.O. Freedom Run 2026

The race.

The H.E.R.O. Freedom Run takes place June 19, 2026, in Hamburg Township near Brighton, Michigan, on a cross-country course at Freedom River. Two distances are offered: a 1-mile fun run starting at 6:30 p.m. and a 5K run/walk beginning at 7 p.m. The course includes trails, fields, and slight hills with chip timing. Packet pickup occurs on race day from 5 p.m. at the registration table. All finishers receive medals, and first-place finishers in each age group and overall male and female categories receive gift cards. Registration includes a commemorative T-shirt, a day pass to Freedom River, three amusement ride passes for the Hamburg Family Fun Fest, free parking, and a goody bag. Proceeds benefit Freedom River, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing outdoor recreation facilities for veterans and their families.
