The Labor Day Trail Challenge takes place September 5, 2026, at McKinney Roughs Nature Park in Cedar Creek, Texas, featuring 5K, 10K, half marathon, and marathon distances on single-track trails and fire roads. The 5K (3.1 miles) and 10K (6.2 miles) are open to beginner and intermediate runners, while the half marathon (13.1 miles) and marathon (26.2 miles) serve intermediate and advanced participants. An 8-hour solo or relay option also starts at 7:00 AM. All finishers receive a custom finisher medal; half-marathon and marathon finishers earn an additional rodeo-style belt buckle and event t-shirt. Overall winners in each distance receive a cowboy hat award. The course traverses four ecosystems along the Colorado River with elevation gain up to 469 feet, fully stocked aid stations, and rolling terrain through box canyons, wildflower meadows, and pine forests.
