About the race
The race.
The Labor Day Trail Challenge takes place on September 5, 2026, at McKinney Roughs Nature Park in Cedar Creek, Texas. Five race options start at 7:00 AM: a 5K, 10K, half marathon (13.1 miles), marathon (26.2 miles), and 8-hour solo or relay challenge. The course runs on single-track trails and fire roads through four distinct ecosystems along the Colorado River. All finishers receive a custom medal; half-marathon and marathon finishers also earn a rodeo-style belt buckle and event t-shirt. Overall winners in each distance category receive a cowboy hat award.
