The race.
Outrun the Rays 5k Walk/Run takes place May 16, 2026, in Peosta, IA, with a 5K (3.1 miles) and Kids' Fun Run (1 mile). The 5K starts at 9:15 a.m. at Peosta Community Center, where it also finishes; the Kids' Fun Run begins at 8:45 a.m. and is not professionally timed. Registration before May 11 costs $30 and includes a t-shirt; same-day registration costs $35 with shirt not guaranteed. On-site registration opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 8:30 a.m. The 5K is timed and scored by J3 Timing. Top three finishers in boys and girls categories for the Kids' Fun Run receive medals. Participants are encouraged to register individually or honor melanoma warriors by wearing team t-shirts.
