About the race
The race.
The Run Morehead 5K takes place on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 6 p.m. in downtown Morehead, Kentucky. The 5K course runs through downtown Morehead and welcomes runners and walkers of all ages, with strollers and leashed dogs permitted. All finishers receive a medal and race shirt (available in adult and youth sizes). Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers overall and within age groups ranging from 0–9 to 70+. Packet pickup occurs Thursday, July 2, from 5–7 p.m. at the Morehead Police Department or Friday, July 3, from 4:30–5:45 p.m. at the Battson-Oates Entertainment Area. Registration opens March 1, 2026, with early registration encouraged to guarantee a shirt. Proceeds benefit the Shop With A Cop program.
