Description

The RunningLane Track Club Youth Program is open to rising 4th graders - 6th graders who are interested in learning more about the sports of cross country, track and field, and road running.

The Track Club mission is to produce a healthy, encouraging environment and to prepare youth distance runners for youth, middle school, high school competition and beyond.

What: Summer Youth Running Program When : May 17th - July 5th, 2026 Practice Dates & Locations: All practices on Sundays. Grades: Incoming 4th, 5th, and 6th graders Level: All levels, from beginner to experienced (need to be able to complete 1 mile run without walking, this is very important)

WHEN

Sundays May 17th through July 5th.

We will meet at John Hunt Park. We will send out a weekly communication with any practice updates.

Things to bring.....

Water Bottle Sunscreen (preferably already on) Proper running attire to include, shorts, shirt, and shoes A towel or Yoga mat for stretching and plyos A POSITIVE attitude!

In this program each runner will receive training details suited for their needs. This is an introductory class, but we often tailor the workouts to individual runners and their current abilities.

In the 8 week session we hope to provide athletes with a solid summer of fun, training, and education that includes more than just direction in their running. We also will provide instruction on warm ups, stretching, injury prevention routines, drills and more.

8 WEEKS OF TRAINING INCLUDE

· Proper warm up and cool down routines · Fundamental workouts, Fartleks, hills, tempos and more · Drills, skills and injury prevention · Team environment with other runners in the Huntsville metro area · Running community engagement

Entry into this training group also includes free entry into the RunningLane Track Championships (open divisions). Dates for the track meets are below.
