The race.
Shorefire Trail Races offers two distances on October 18, 2026, in Huddleston, VA: a 15.9-mile course and a 6.7-mile course. Both races start and finish at the Beach Pavilion in Smith Mountain Lake State Park and use marked doubletrack trails through the park's trail system. The 15.9-mile course includes approximately 1,800 feet of elevation gain with multiple aid stations featuring water, Tailwind, and food; the 6.7-mile course has about 700 feet of elevation gain with shared aid stations. Bathrooms are located at the Beach Pavilion, Playground area, Discovery Center, and Visitor Center. Official GPX files are available for both courses.
